All portraits are different, some are color while others may want black & white. Depending on how many people are in the portrait can affect the pricing also.

All portraits are 11x14 and will take approximately two weeks to complete. Please contact me for a pricing estimate.

When you have decided that you want to have a portrait drawn of your wife, husband, son, daughter or whoever -- there are two things to remember when picking out a photo to use.

The first thing to look for when picking a photo is obviously one that you like and want to have hanging on your wall as a portrait for a long time. If there is something small wrong with it (person may be looking the other way) don't worry, that can be changed when I work on the drawing. It is also important to pick out a photo that I will be able to work from so the final portrait will look perfect. For best results a minimum of 5x7 photograph (4x6 will work if the person is shown close up). It is always a good idea to include multiple photographs of the person if possible, that way if there is detail that I can not make out on the original photograph I can refer to the other examples.

Think of it as cosmetic surgery if want. When drawing the portrait from the photograph let me know if there is anything you want added or removed from the person or photograph. If you have the "perfect" photograph of your nephew but you don't want the portrait to include the baseball hat he is wearing I can remove it in the portrait as long as you supply an image of him without the hat on. I am also able to draw a portrait of multiple people even if they are not in the same original photograph. The final portrait will look as if they were all together at the time. That way you can pick out the best photograph of each person for the portrait.

Depending on the age of the photograph, the subject and many other factors you may prefer to have the final portrait in color or black & white. You also have the option of turning a black and white photograph into a colored portrait. Please contact me for more details on this service.
